Regional Integration Policy Forum
The Regional Integration Policy Forum focuses on Pakistan’s regional partners, more specifically, the persisting trade frameworks between them. Additionally, the relevant conventions and agreements pertaining to international trade law have also been explained alongside trade bodies and their respective functions.
The first phase of this initiative will focus on highlighting the trade profiles alongside relevant regional and bilateral agreements of the following countries: Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. More countries will be added in the subsequent phases.
This section provides an overview of key international and regional conventions and agreements on trade facilitation that provide a robust legal framework for harmonisation of customs procedures, international transport and transit, import and export framework, and development of single windows.
Trade bodies include international entities and regulators associated with trade and transit. These entities have played key roles in facilitating regional and international economic cooperation by providing international best practices and guidelines for member states.
